Emergency Services Mega Bash – Cricket Tournament
As some of you may be aware, the 2nd annual Emergency Services Mega Bash is being held on Sunday 17th February 2013 at Gwawley Oval, Taren Point Road, Taren Point.
Last year the tournament was won by Fire & Rescue NSW with $10,500 being raised to support Bowel Cancer Australia. The event will be bigger and better than last year with the Weekend Today show doing live crosses throughout the morning. A police helicopter is scheduled to deliver the Shield, in addition food and drink will also be available.
Teams will be fielded from emergency services locally and include both Sutherland & Miranda Police, Fire & Rescue, Ambulance, SES and the RFS.
It is anticipated that the RFS will again field a team which is so appropriately named the ‘Burnt Stumps’. We are looking for a team of able, or at least willing participants who wish to be involved in this charity event. A registration fee of $50 is applicable per player with the funds going to Bowel Cancer Australia. A commemorative t-shirt is also provided.
The event is also open to the public, so if brigade members are interested in attending to cheer on the RFS team they are most welcome.
